The ruling party in Uzbekistan took first place in the recent parliamentary elections held in the country. According to the Central Election Commission, the party received about 70% of the votes of the electorate.
As noted by representatives of the ruling party, such a high result confirms the trust of the people in the current course of the country's development. In turn, opposition forces expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the elections and stated the facts of violations of the electoral process.
Opposition parties accused the authorities of interference in the election and manipulation of the voting results. Observers from various international organizations also pointed out certain violations related to the conduct of the elections in accordance with international standards.
In response to these accusations, representatives of the Central Election Commission emphasized that the elections were held in strict accordance with the country's legislation, and any complaints and proposals would be considered in the established order.
