UAE Judo Team to Compete at Tashkent Grand Slam

The UAE Judo Federation confirms their participation with a talented youth team at the Tashkent Grand Slam from February 28 to March 2, 2025.


UAE Judo Team to Compete at Tashkent Grand Slam

The Federation of Judo of the United Arab Emirates announced the planned participation of the youth national team in the Grand Prix tournament in Tashkent. According to Mokhammed bin Thaalub ad-Darayi, the president of the federation, the selection of this strong team confirms the success of the athletes at various competitions.

The second largest tournament, the Grand Prix under the Federation of the International Judo Association, will take place in Uzbekistan from February 28 to March 2, 2025. The team of the UAE will be represented by four men and one woman. Among them: Hamid as-Shamsi (weight 60 kg), Nadji Izbik (66 kg), Karim Abdellatif (73 kg), Rashid al-Mashdari (81 kg) and Bushrat Kharudi (52 kg).

"We are confident that our athletes will demonstrate a high level in this tournament and bring honor to our country," emphasized Mokhammed bin Thaalub ad-Darayi.
